El Club de fútbol América es un equipo de la Liga Mexicana, fundado el 12 de octubre de 1916 y su presidente actual es el señor Michael Bauer desde el año 2008.

Por sus triunfos, América se ubica como el segundo equipo que más torneos consiguió, solo superado por Guadalajara que posee solo 1 titulo más.

En el plano internacional, el club de futbol América de México se levanta como el equipo con más triunfos, lo mismo en ocurre en su federación, la Concacaf que agrupa los equipos de América del Norte, del Centro y el Caribe.
